Frequently Asked Questions

A: GND is different. We are professionals. We have a psychology and coaching and development background. We help our members look at themselves objectively using a personality assessment – the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator © (MBTI). Every subscriber comes into our loft office space to have the results of their personality assessment interpreted. We match our members on dates based on their interests, personality types, and membership profiles. After the dates, members receive feedback and we provide the option for further Dating and Relationship Coaching.

A: Our membership covers operating costs associated in helping us attract new members and individuals  interested in dating our members.  Our members are responsible for paying at the event for what they eat and drink or associated expenses with the date (i.e. rock climbing fee).

A: We may pre-arrange with our participating venues (i.e. restaurants, bars, events etc.) to provide an individual check for each member. If the check is split, please see if gratuity has already been included.

A: In general singles between the ages of 23 and 55 would enjoy our services. Please note that singles on each end of the age range would not be brought together to the same event. Age is one factor, but we look at the membership profiles, personality traits, and interests prior to setting up our members on dates.

A: The MBTI is the most extensively used personality assessment in the world. Based on Carl Jung’s Theory of Personality Type, this invaluable tool was developed by a mother and daughter team in the 40’s and is supported by over 45 years of research. We are certified to administer the MBTI.  The MBTI offers a holistic approach to personal development through identifying your personality type preferences and how it can be useful in your day to day life.

A: Many free online personality tests are mere variations of the MBTI. These “imposter” assessments tout accuracy but in reality, lack validity and reliability. The MBTI is what is known as a restricted tool, meaning those who purchase it need to have credentials of a Master’s Degree or higher in psychology or certified to administer the assessment.

The MBTI is NOT trait based and does not measure on a continuous scale. No choice is considered better. There is no "wrong answer."

A: All of our events are hosted, so you’ll have at least one person to support you. Our host is responsible for ensuring that everyone has a chance to meet someone new and helping you break the ice with other members.

A: Membership profiles are reviewed for compatibility and we reach out to both members if there is an interest in going on a date.  We exchange telephone numbers.  Therefore, you get to talk with your match before meeting and it's a great way to get to know each other a little bit before getting together on a date. Chatting before actually meeting is a terrific ice breaker; it takes the pressure off so you can feel comfortable on your date!

A: A Group Date consists of six to ten members put together based on their interests, personality types, and membership profiles. Members will finally get the chance to meet new people who are their best match, all in a fun environment that's designed to get them results. Group Dates are always hosted to get the conversation going and to make sure that everyone feels comfortable while getting to know each other. It is important to note that the group may not completely homogenous to you. We try to structure a diverse Group Date with similar interests that will help our members explore friendships and romantic interests.

A: It's super easy.  Just sign up onlne by completing our Online Membership Application or by calling us at 206-866-5783.

A: Of course. We want you to bring your friends and help you explore a romantic connection. Our host will ensure that you are comfortable in meeting new people.

A: We always want you to make a great first impression. After all, we are looking to introduce you to your future husband or wife. First impressions are very important; you don’t have a second chance to make a first impression.

A: Feedback is very valuable. One way we provide feedback is by helping our members take a personality assessment to help them see themselves objectively. Whenever possible, we want to provide as much feedback as possible to help our members be in a relationship. We never say: “we do all the work!” We partner with you, provide you feedback, and collaborate with you to find resources and develop skills you may need to help you into a committed relationship.

A: There are no contracts with GND. We earn your business every month. This means if you wish to discontinue your membership you can call it quits at any time, no strings attached. We have a 30-day cancellation policy. Any feedback you can provide us prior to cancelling would be great.

A: We have graduate degrees in Psychology and Human Resources. We have experience coaching and developing people and are certified in the MBTI. At GND we will personalize our services help you achieve your goals through an individual plan that identifies your goals and tracks your progress.

A: We use a trade secret comprehensive selection process that begins with your personality type preference. We then draw from our database to match you dates.

A: Outside the monthly follow up consultation sessions, we offer all our members an hourly rate of $75/hour.

A: If there is someone that you are intrigued with, go for the gusto and ask them out on a date. It is important to note that we will never release information on any of our members without explicit consent. It is each our members’ sole responsibility to personally meet any individual on their own volition and evaluate the member to see if there is an interest to be in a committed relationship. GND makes no representations or warranties regarding character and background of its members.

A: Check out our Events Calendar.  In addition, once you become a member, you will start receiving monthly email notifications keeping you up to speed. Members will receive individualized invitations to events on the Events Calendar.

A: We never want you to show up to a date where the other person is not there. If you need to cancel on a date for whatever reason, we ask that you notify us 72 hours in advance. If you cancel between 0-72 hours in advance or if you are a no-show, you will be charged a flat fee of $75 regardless of costs associated with the event that will be donated to a charity we support.

A: GND is available at an hourly rate of $75 to address your questions, offer further clarification, and give you the opportunity to discuss the feedback you received based on your membership profile.

A: We understand that this can totally happen and we are open to making the date happen. Here is the deal, only one person going on the date has to be a paid subscriber.  That matchmaker, however, determines whether both people want to go on the date.

A: We receive a lot of requests to date our members.  We set up our members on dates based on their membership profiles.  Paying subsubscribers/members have a preference in dating our members.

A: Although GND members go through a comprehensive screening process, it DOES NOT include a criminal background check. Ultimately, it is up to you to be aware of basic safety principals. We don’t want to create a false sense of safety as a global criminal background check does not cover all states and countries where our members may have lived, worked, or attended school.

A: No pictures, but we will match you up based on personality assessment, membership profile and interests.
